Our Beliefs
The foundational truths we hold as Moravian Christians
Core Doctrinal Beliefs
As part of the worldwide Moravian Church, we hold to these essential Christian beliefs
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, working together in perfect unity for the salvation of humanity and the glory of God.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our guide for faith and practice, revealing God's character, will, and plan for humanity. We study it diligently and seek to apply its teachings to our daily lives.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, and His promised return. He is our Savior, Lord, and the only way to eternal life.
Salvation by Grace
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift from God, not earned by good works, though good works are the natural result of genuine faith. All who believe in Christ receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, regenerates hearts, indwells believers, guides into truth, empowers for service, and produces spiritual fruit in our lives. The Holy Spirit equips us with spiritual gifts for the building up of the church.
The Church
We believe in the universal church, the body of Christ, composed of all true believers. The local church is a community of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, instruction, and service. We are called to love one another and work together for God's kingdom.
Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of the dead and eternal life. Those who have accepted Christ will spend eternity with God in heaven, while those who reject Him will be separated from God. We look forward with hope to Christ's return and the fulfillment of God's kingdom.
